For hundreds of years, the domestic canary has been sought after by various cultures across the world. From European kings, to world-travelling sailors, to American coal miners, these birds have historically been sought after for their versatility, utility, beauty, and song. These songbirds are renowned for their vivid colors and wonderful singing; however, what most people don’t know is that only the male canaries are the singers. While this may be the case, the females provide the “inspiration” for their wonderful melodies – by which we mean, having a female with or even near a male will provide the most vocal of singers for your home.

The beauty of our canaries is truly experienced when they sing, as their innate melodic nature flourishes best with music. Javad raises his canaries with and around music, constantly. Whether they are waking up in the morning, flying around their living space, being moved from place to place, or getting ready for bed, our canaries have music playing for them, allowing for development of their own unique sound. You’ll find that canaries (unlike most songbirds) mimic melodies moreso than sounds, which provides a more pleasing rhythmic tune to hear rather than incessant chirping.
